That would look great in a photo with the hood and deck lid closed. Bob

  11. That was my assumption but it just seems an odd placement. I would have thought they'd be on the b-pillars.

Every year there is less & less hot rod stuff and more new foreign stuff. Thats why I quit going 3 years ago. What's there is great but it shrinks every year

That's for old '20s & '30s big trucks and Volkswagens, Sancho. All the others get quarter panel semaphores. :D:p

    Me like also George.
I generally don't get too worked up about this era of Fords and I have never strayed from my self imposed edict of not using the "LIKE" button........but I came close.
Three things work for me, the injection, the stance, and the tire/wheel combination.

  16. Great pics, thanks.
I'm curious as to these rocker covers. A new product for Hemis? IMG_20161105_092255.jpg

Just seems like Hannenframmus when referencing it to HAMB stuff. The line is now frazzled if this seems confusing to you. I haven't gone since Dean Moon passed...

Yes, I REALLY like the safety-wired knock-offs. I know its not the first time its been done on a car of this sort, but this is one case where it REALLY fits the theme, doesn't come off as pretentious. I really love this, even the leather hood straps, nice tip of the hat to the La Carrera Pan-America heritage they are riffing on.

Google old European turn signals (semaphores).
    Edit
Oh, maybe you asked why put them in a car that already has turn signals.
One, I would say, just to be different.
Some might say (in a smart ass tone of voice), "because he can".

Just a guess, the lights in the grill are probably driving lights rather than turn signals, in keeping with the Pan-America theme.

This car may be rare, but the build is a rat rod with a later model body attached to it. I saw this thing at the Hotrod Reunion in Bakersfield last month. Uggleee! Of course that's only one reporter's opinion

I was thinking of the original body style not what it is now, would make a nice tow car :)

Correctly so, should have been up there higher so folks behind could see it better. RE the hood straps... to me they are like using dzus fasteners on your hood. Looks cool and trick, but after about the 10th time you have to take the hood off (and find a good place to put it and the dzus gizmos so the hood won't get scratched or stepped on) it gets tiresome. Once you own a car with hood straps you'll realize why hood pins were invented. 50's Ferrari hood pin / latches are far cooler, anyway. Gary
