Here's my '46. I got in Oregon city, Oregon. The po wanted to put it up on top off his barn. Got it for 200.00 bucks. Body's all there but needs serious attention, frames been modified, with a volare front end and rear end an 8.8 ford. Po also shaved rain gutter on passenger side. I'll want to replace that. Plans are not to chop. The short doors look good stock.

  3. Hi Guys
I have a slight problem with a Door Handle, The shaft appears to be too short but it is original , I have taken a photo upwards from inside the door and you can see the shaft is about 1 1/2" too short before it would engage with the latch. Am I missing something, is there an intermediate shaft, if so could someone send me a pic of it.

Here's mine. I have a 48 2 Dr sedan that is getting this roof kind of like what KOOLKEMP did but without the chop. I love them stock looking. I really need a trunk lid though.

Are the doors for a convertible? Convert doors are thicker and have longer shafts on the door handle. You may have a sedan handle with convert doors.

  14. Hi Guys
I thought all 46/48 Door Handles had the same length shaft, obviously not, thanks for the input.

You just don't see cars built like this anymore and I don't know why. To be honest I am kind of slammed/gasser street freak to death but back in 1971 when I turned 16 this was just an in your face bad ass hot rod! Now days I would run 8" rear wheels so the tires did not stick out so far , but back in 71 the 10's would have been what it was all about! love that style. Larry

Our '46, waiting for the kids to show up so they can show the old man how to post more pics!! Hurst front mounted SBC hooked to the stock trans and Banjo rear, Grey Super Deluxe interior, stock gauges. Other than Magnum/Posie suspention it's pretty much the way Henry's Boys built it. Dodge Lancer caps clear the rear hubs just fine.

  26. These chopped, chubby Fords and Mercurys do tend to have a family resemblance don't they? Yours looks fine with the "black cherry" paint Dave!

An excuse to show another pic of the '41.. :D

  30. My friend Mike has owned this sweetheart since he was 19 (over 45 years!). It isn't used as much anymore since he has two (2!) 1941 Continental convertibles to drive!

They say of the Lincolns, that you can balance a nickel on edge on the rad while they are running, but it could easily be done on Mike's Merc!
