At an exchange rate of $5 to the pound (which it was in the 30s) that BSA 3 wheeler cost as much as a Model A Ford sedan and the TB cost as much as a Buick.

That engine is a work of art. Do you happen to know the displacement?

Tom, the engine displaces 1500 CC 120 X 89 . Your question went from where you are to Alaska. Then from Alaska to England. From England back to Alaska....now back to you in 33 minutes!

89x120 gives 1493cc. The undersquare proportions are quite typical of the era.

120x89 would be 2013cc, which might have been an interesting '60s reinterpretation.

Is the bonnet longer on that first one or is it just the camera?

    Fred,
For me bonnet/hood looks longer and grill is something more forward, and taller a little, too?
Pay attention at position of spare wheel at side of both cars and proportions between it and front wheel and cockpit...
I could suppose that the first car is four-cylinder in-line and the second is V-twin.

    Hello Jack and Dawie,
Until recently I didn't know for that cute and elegant British sport car (saw some photos and discussion on CycleKart Club)...

Searching a little, I found photos about reconstruction of one Vale Roadster, with quite well seen unusual chassis and suspension. What Vale in standard form (small Morris engine) lost in acceleration and speed it got in good road-holding due to excelelnt suspension and steering, with extremely low-level centre of weight..

    Ciao, Zoran
