Got to see the Vagabond run at Kingdon in the 60s after it had gone 200 at Sacramento. Was always exciting to see it run.

This is such a cool piece of Top Fuel history. Pretty amazing that the dragster spent time racing here in western Idaho as a Super Pro dragster in the Firebird Raceway bracket program. Kevin Shumway was the owner/driver. I can always remember Kevin telling me that he could only run down to a certain e.t., because the cage wouldn't certify to go faster (otherwise it may not have retained all its period pipe for this future restoration). It's pretty amazing that this car was tracked down in the 90's, then returned to its original glory. Vagabond rules!

Saw this car at the NorCal Knockout a few times. That 392 sounds wicked!

  7. The Vagabond was always a staple during the Hot-Rod-A-Rama in the early 2000s. There's was nothing like hearing it fire up on the streets of downtown Tacoma, with it just resonating off of all the historic buildings. I'm sure it was heard miles away!
