I don't have any pics bu tI do have a 292 bored 20 over. The block deck and heads have been drilled between the middle two cylinders about 1/4" ? To get rid of a hot spot when I got it. Head gaskets have that tiny hole so I hope all is OK. If not how would I fix it?

Heads up Y block horsepower junkies.
Muscle Machines magazine July 2016 has some pretty cool photos and tech.
I know, not real HAMB "traditional", but cool nonetheless.

I've posted pics above of my 292. Got it in the truck. Unfortunately when we got the block we knew it was tired but I didn't rebuild the bottom end. Which I should have. As it sits now...I got serious blow by and semi firing on drivers side. Which stumps me. Bottom line I've got to get the engine back out and rebuild the bottom end. Here's a pic in the truck

Those look like the Red's headers I had on my bird some years back. They had a "S" bend pipe off the header, down to the OEM muffler. They don't show on his web site anymore, but might be worth a phone call.

  13. Hello Rick

This is the original engine to this T-bird, I don't remember the whole story about the car. But there are a lot information of this car in the May number 1957 of Hot Rod Magazine,,if somebody has it. The car is in Sweden now, not the car in background pick of the engine. Here is 2 bad picks of the magazine,

[IMG] got the 292 back today. Ready to get to work now. Not too radical. 272 bored to 292. E4 isky cam block was decked. 9:1 forged pistons. Big valve heads. B intake with summit 600 cfm carb, MSD distributor, running rams horns headers

My first car in 1962 was a 55 ford 272 yblock with three on the tree like this one! First up grade was down to the junk yard for a 4bbl intake and manifold.

Interesting setup!, I've always wondered about using two of the big Holley 2 barrels and wondered how it would perform. So, what's it like? Looks cool, is that an Edelbrock two-four manifold, Can't tell from here.

Yeah, I like that set up too. I used to have dual Rochester 2GC carbs on a SBC, and I considered changing over to the Holley's just like this set up, so I would have the tune-ability of Holley carbs; but Holley wants more for those 2 barrels than they do for common 4 barrel carbs; and I never came across a pair of used Holley's before I came across a pair of WCFB's, so I went with those instead (and am very pleased with them).

Thanks. The Holley's are the small 350 cfm set up with straight linkage. The choke is hooked up on the rear carb. It is an Edelbrock intake that I made adapters for. Gets anywhere from 16 - 18 mpg depending on my foot:). Run's great, excellent throttle response from idle to wide open.
