One sweet little roadster, I can`t think of anything I would change if it found it`s way to my garage. Thanks for posting the article, I`ve never seen this one before and really enjoyed reading the story.
Iconic for sure, just like the man. He will be missed. It was at a very young age when I first heard over the AM radio " Blackie Gejeian's Fresno Autorama!" (said in the SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY! voice) Terrific car!
Love it. Have pictures of it saved as inspiration for my T build. Exceptional quality for the era, and unique looking without being ugly/goofy.
Growing up in Fresno I thought Blackie was just a guy who put on races and a car show. Took a few years to realize the impact he had on the car world.
I was so very fortunate to speak with Blackie on the phone about his roadster and my Uncle Ray's roadster. And then meet him in person and one of the final Fresno Autorama....a complete gentleman and icon. He expressed his wish that my Uncle "get that damn roadster back as it truly belonged to him and no one else, go back yellow and get rid of that ugly red"....there was absolutely no joking in his voice. Thanks for a great blog JB, this magazine really needs to be added to my collection. Here is the photo from the '55 AMBR.
