Anyone got a guess as to what these two gauge panels are from? Closest I could find was 1930's Essex and 1930's Chrysler but can't pinpoint them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. DSC03855.JPG

  2. For some reason folks always seem to guess Essex first on panels like your top one.
Essex is fairly easy because the dial openings are hex shaped.........that one is NOT Essex.

Yes I know that is why I said the closest I could find was Essex. I just haven't seen any clusters with the corners rounded in, Essex is just close because the outside panel is the exact same shape just without the embossed pine cone design. Also this one is a flat overlay without the pine needle embossing.

  4. There were dozens of manufacturers in the late '20s that did similar designed panels, see my post #765 as an example. I'll guarantee even after seeing this back and forth between us you'll have people guess yours is an Essex.......they just can't help themselves.:D Sorry I don't know what yours actually is, but I'd suggest doing a search of obscure manufacturers of the era. Also, a "can you identify this..." thread of your own rather than buried in this one might be helpful.

Rebuilding my '55 Chevy 1st Series pickup. Managed to snag the rare clock accessory pod and convert it to a mount for a tachometer.
