I'm totally groovin' on this build....very inspiring, and really enjoying the progress you are sharing with us....it's pretty darn awesome what you've done thus far....can't wait to see what's next!

Yes, It was not mine, but the guy I got it off of knew I was into 32's so he gave it to me.

Been busy with work, hopefully late this week I'll have some time.

I've been working on the mini roll bar / stiffener that will go just under the upper deck lid panel.

 

You will be able to rename this thread when your done to; " The '32 Everybody wanted". Keep up the super work. I dont believe I would challenge myself on a project like that unless it was a 3w '32. Would do about anything for a 3w project body.

Well I didn't get as much done as I wanted but I did manage to almost finish the roll bar / stiffener.

It's tacked in place and will tie the upper deck lid panel and B pillars in place while adding some strength to the entire body.

The roll bar started life as a Boston Police car divider... you know the divider that separates the po po from the bad guy in the back.. I trimmed the legs, narrowed it and tucked it under the deck lid panel.

 

Added some B pillar stiffeners, I slotted the pillar and slid the tube in, than welded the other end to the roll bar.

 

I also made a few plates the got welded to the top of the roll bar than welded to the top of the quarter panels and upper deck lid panel, this really stiffened up the entire rear clip.

 

That should strengthen up the body nicely.

 

I like those braces - simple yet they will probably really make a difference. I've been contemplating a Frankenstein roadster build with a bunch of loose body parts I have (1917 Willys touring cowl top, '32 Ford PU cowl sides, orphan large roadster quarters, etc.) but have worried about how to tie them all together - looks like this is a good way to go.
