  11. great pics. I heard there was a bunch of pissed off cackle owners on Friday. the source said the owners were given a sheet of paper saying under no conditions were the cackle cars to be started in the pits. after 30 or so cackle cars loaded up and left did nhra repeal there decision. they also wouldn't allow streaming coverage due to them wanting to do a pay per view but it fell through. any validity to the story. if true who ever came up with those decisions should be fired.

  12. I see my friends Red Greth (Speed Sport roadster) and Glenn Way (Groundshaker Jr.) were there. Great to see these cars.

Nice selection of pictures ! Here is another angle of the black Dragster from Washington State. I had a long conversation with the owner, and got the interesting history of that little beauty ! IMG_0120.JPG

The notice of the cackle issue was handed out Thur and yes some people left but not 30. I got there Fri noon and it was a bi#$h to find a slot for my car in the cackle area-- plenty of cars. NHRA backed off the No pit cackle and allowed it with the stipulation that it could not be done when there are fuel cars running on the track. NHRA also messed up the night cackle with push starts (select 40) starting from the top end and placing the cars at the 1/8 mile back towards the finnish line , People in the first sections of bleachers as accustom to seeing the cars in front of them were not very happy.
PPV cost money to set up and do. NHRA does not want to spend money for fear of a loss if it does not work out. If BangShift was going to do it instead, unfortunatly would have to cancel because Chads wife was/is in the hospital haveing risky surgury (coded once)
This years CHRR was a complete NHRA production, Steve Gibbs and the museum people were not involved in running the show as they did in the past

Ya guys...it was a mess from move in till sometime saturday, when we got clarification on the pit cackle thing, my son Flashback58, who towed all the way from Calgary, despite having no chance to be in the Cacklefest joked to me when I got there Friday morning, that it took him longer to get pitted on Wednesday(3 rows in from Stage lanes in the Cackle car area)than it took him to get through UTAH! And then there was the Cacklefest.......despite not being able to push start on the fire up road for fear the public getting Nitro in their faces.....it was going to be a pretty cooool deal anyhow, until they started lining up the cars at the wrong end of the track!!!!! Despite having a map drawn up for them by Steve Gibbs himself, and gone over at the Drivers meeting Thursday, they got it wrong!! We were at about 660' and there were only about a half dozen cars that made it down that far! I can only apologize to those folks that came from half way around the world to see it, only to miss it by a 1/4 of a mile!!!!!! Look for some big changes next year, unless the meddlers at NHRA want to keep their greedy hooks in this thing!!!!!!

Friday night at the Double Tree was a real let down. Been going since the first one and this year was a real disappointment.
