..my lucky number for this Sunday was "57"..,
-One of my first air-brush -works ever. From 1988, actually. Humbrol enamel over bare plastic. Pulled this out of the shelf today, put some foil on it, and glued the windows in. 20161016_222630.jpg

..And a question reg a couple of spare engines I have. These came in the AMT '80s-edition "Diamond in the Rough" -set.
I understand these are Oldsmobile "Golden Rocket" -engines, optional for the '40 Ford Sedan included as a "junker" in the set. The instruction sheet makes no mention of these.
-Does anyone have an image of similar engine assembled, as I'm trying to establish which of the kit-supplied parts belong on this one?
-Also, was there ever an aftermarket aluminum tri-power intake available for these engines? Thus, should the intake be painted aluminum, or the corresponding color to the engine block and rest of the cast-iron components?
    -Thanks.

Those AMT Olds motors that came in the 40 sedan kit could be built with carbs or injection if my memory is correct.

-Yes, there are injection stacks included in the "chrome" -parts -tree, as well as a chromed, timing-cover -piece presumably for an injected engine.

I picked up a AMT 36 Ford coupe that according to the box and instructions was to be built stock only but there were hotrod options included.

Revell's new '30 Model A coupe. Built mostly straight out of the box except the 409 which came from a '62 Impala kit.

That looks really good! The gold in the grille is especially well done and the neatness of all the other detailing is excellent.

Love it!! That kit is on my bucket list and will do much as you did, box stock, but maybe with a nailhead I've been saving.

Some photos of an AMT 1932 Ford Victoria I recently built. It represents a stock version with optional apple green wheels. 39.jpg 40.jpg 41.jpg 42.jpg 33.jpg 43.jpg I entered it in a local contest and it picked up a top ten award.

  23. Congrats! Great job on the Vicky. I have a dumb question. why is the box so small? maybe for a 1\32 scale? Here is one of my old Vickys, and the box they came in back in da olden days. lol Ron... . 001.jpg 234.jpg

The new issue of this kit ( and most AMT and MPC kits) come with a mini box for display.

    Great looking hi-boy vicky.

Very nice build, the 409 looks right at home.
I just did the channeled 29` roadster with the flathead from the Revell 32` Ford sedan kit, fit like it was made for it.
