Thanks for the pics, super clean. I'll likely change over to that style linkage and springs, since it looks more durable then the set up I have as well as cleaner. I got my current set up from the gentleman that did the outer carbs, Bob. Nice older guy, sounded knowledgable on the phone and explained how most use an overkill set up.
I think I like overkill in this area better. :)

Today I started fabbing some heat shields for the pipes where they run a little close to the trans pan and battery for my liking. Using 2 1/2" pipe sliced in half and bent tabs for clamps to hold them in place. Pics soon.

Also measured my springs, since it feels like they are too heavy in back. Wish I knew what they were. Seems like a 180-250 lb set is what I'll need though. Seems like the Aldan shocks might need rebuild as well.

Hey at least now you are dealing with all the little piddling details and don't have to sit on a milk crate making engine noises.

Haha, luckily past the milk crate stage!

I'm actually working on the garnish moldings now so I can do door panels soon. My problem is the fiberglass garnish doesn't have a 90 on the edge where the window felts would go on metals ones?

I haven't been able to find window felts/wiskers that will fit. Needs to be 1/8" channel with felt on the outside I think to work without fiberglass work.

If anyone has an idea, that would be great!

Haven't worked on the car at all. Still trying to find a solution that will give me good results without reglassing all 5 window garnish.

The Internet has been zero help. But a local Biulder brought me some good catalogues that look like they might help...once I can look thru them.

Yesterday I got some work done on Vicky. Finally decided to raise the steering column, after realizing I had set it too low back when I thought I knew what I was doing. Raised it 1.5" and got some clearance to allow for one foot driving.
Also fitted the front door garnish trim, although I'm still looking for the best window felts options. I do have some I'm trying to figure out how to use. I have to get out the steelerubber products catalogue first!

So what did you decide on the muffler situation?

Since I put the crossover in, it sounds decent, so I'm going to drive it and see how it goes after that.

Been a rough couple of weeks, bills are getting tight as it slows for the holiday season. Wife is pressuring me to sell the car and pay bills.
Have to struggle thru the next two months without doing that somehow.

I hate the slow season being a mechanic on flat rate.

Too bad you are in FLA. up north the snow and cold brings lots of work due to crashes and water in their fuel.

You could always get another wife, you may never have a chance to build another car like this one. My wife said her or the car and I'm getting a little worried as the ad has run for two weeks and not a single call. I'm starting to think there is no market for used wives.

Just listed the car on EBay today. We got a bill from my sons emergency room visit two months ago for the unpaid portion. Insurance paid $3,000, we pay $9,000.

The camels back has been broken.

    Voted wisely I hope?

The car sold today to the first person to see and drive it. Bringing a trailer to bring it back 500 miles to home.

    Sad.

Maybe in a couple years I'll build a T Bucket, or a glass roadster...something less expensive. But I'll save up and do it without any credit cards, or debt of any kind.
Maybe find an unfinished project of someone else's.

Thanks H.A.M.B.ers, I'll still be around looking and dreaming.
