the A-400's, and B-400's were one of the classiest models ever built imho.always wanted one..beautiful cars and extremely rare. you built an awesome model C-400..
To gain the ability , work ethic , and so from your father he really must have been quite a man. excellent car , thanks for sharing your project . skinnydude
Thanks Guys, I took my 33 to South Lake Tahoe For the Ford V8 Grand Nationals, parked it next to the Event, very few even noticed it,I guess most of the guy's who would have known Ford never produced a 33 Fordor Victoria Convertible Sedan are no longer with us? That is why we should buildem for our own enjoyment, very few others will appreciate our creations as we do.
Beautiful workmanship Dave, it is on par with the 4-door Victoria that Brizio did. Both are works of art.
These Pictures were taken with a crummy old camera when the project was completed and drivable = January 2004
After 11 years I had to replace the waterpump , not a lot of room as you can see .installing the SBF was a tight squeeze but the Firewall is uncut. had to remove Grille / Radiator to get to it. has a Snow-White Adapter with an Opel waterpump
Thanks 56 , I appreciate the comments , it was Hella undertaking but we may as well be working on our dreams because time will pass whether we are working or not
Its time to bring this back to the top again so others can enjoy it. I just saw it on the recent Mordor thread for the first time. Dave, your concept and execution of your C-400 Fordor is simply stunning! Even though I'm a Deuce guy I'd take it over a B-400 any day! I would have loved to see you do a similar roof treatment on the '33 3W coupe you had. I just saw a new Fiat 500 convertible with the same fold back top the other day and thought how cool it was that the original Henry Ford concept is still being used today.
I never see enough of Dave Mc's C400. I was alarmed when I saw the thread back up, fearing he may have 'pranged' it, or worse: sold it! A truly beautiful execution of 'corrective ideas', still blind-sides me.
I just spent an hour searching for this old thread , bringing it back to put it near the top on MY CONTENT so I can find it when necessary
I remember you building the car and from concept to finished product it's something Henry Ford himself should have built. HRP
Once every year I pull this old thread up. Seems like a good time to Bring it back to the front page. hard to believe it's been finished for 16 years , still in great shape
We know better but for the general public to see the car they don't realize it's not just another '33 Ford off the assembly line, that is the mark of a real craftsman! HRP
