I've tried Bob Drake, Dennis Carpenter.... Those are the good suppliers but they're out of pumps and won't even give an ETA on when they'll have them ready to ship.

I'd rather not get them from speedway.... I did see some on eBay thru gearhead world but they have several threads on here about terrible customer service and many horror stories about the actual Parts. Is there another supplier that has them?

  2. Might try C&G Ford in CA....great company to deal with.

    Nothing wrong with speedway pumps.

I've heard mixed reviews about the speedways units. They are however almost double in price.

Pete, did you try JobLot Automotive in Queens? If not in stock they'd have the rebuild kits.

Joblot closed. How about Van Pelt? If you have cores, send them to Skip Haney.

Try Shoebox Central. They have both narrow and wide belt pumps listed on their on line catalogue

I also heard bad about gearhead world... I purchased a set of 8ba pumps from them a year ago. Haven't used them yet... I'm curious too. Are their pumps not good? Now I'm worried to use them!

I have a set of rebuilt pumps with new updated impellers, carbon graphite bearings and duel pulleys. If you are interested send me a PM, a bit pricey but I will sell them for what I have in them and you want have to wait 3 months to get a set like these done.

I got a pair of new water pumps for the 52 Merc from Napa last year. Working great.

    Thanks guys.

    I found a pair

    Ps

I heard that pretty much all the new pumps sold by the big dealers all come from the same place. So I'm guessing that the Dennis carpenter / Bob Drake and others are the same. That's why all of the dealers are expecting a new shipment sometime in January. Maybe??

Its a safe bet that theres only one place in China that is making all the pumps everyone in America is selling. I cleaned and sandblasted mine and sent them to Skip Haney

C&G ford just got some Dennis carpenter pumps in. They are still out of the bob drake pumps though. I'm not really sure the difference. Both have the new bearing style. Maybe the impeller is different.
