  5. Awwww man. So sorry to hear this. I always anticipated his latest beautiful custom creation. He sure cranked out some great ones over the years. Definitely leaves a void in the custom community. He will be missed.
My condolences to his family and friends. Vaya con Dios, Mr. Zocchi..........E

What the heck happened? His style was understated elegance and was true art. Met him at the Portland show a couple of years ago I believe. Really nice man as was as interested in what I was doing as I was in his. We have lost a great one!

Rich's '56 Chrysler AND his '56 Mark II Continental are still two of my all-time favorite customs.

My sincere thoughts & prayers to his family.

There is now a very large gap to be filled in the custom car world.

As beautiful as this is today, it is a (chopped) recreation of the Pontiac Zocchi had Winfield build for him nearly 40 years before, when still new in 1962! What an enduring legacy.

Did Richard do the recreation, MO? The excellent chop gives the Poncho a whole new and interesting perspective.

Yes. He had Winfield handle the first one. For the recreation, he turned to Lucky 7 Customs. Marcos and Art Himsl nailed the paint job.
I too love the chop. But I still remember the impression the original car had on me in CC Magazine show coverage in 1963! (Before the fade.)

  21. The entire world of customs has lost a great artist and craftsman. I remember when he finished the '56 Lincoln and the coverage in the magazines was amazing. His family will be in my prayers tonight.
