Wicked neat Tim, maybe you can get it to TROG 2017 Jersey. See you there, again

Great story and I think she made the right choice for the cars' new owner.
I think I'd have to call the car 'Cookie' and remember her everytime you heard its name.

Many have asked about my plans for the coupe. Since I didn't expect to ever get another 32 it wasn't in my plans to build another. So this car will probably have 2 phases. I'd like to clean it up and get it running, nothing much more than that for the moment.
Phase 2 will look more like this with a plain looking but healthy built flathead V8, 3.54 gear in the rear and a 39 box.

Kinda like this coupe and Dan Webbs sedan.

    So true.
For those patiently watching for it on eBay, you'll never find it there.

You know, I was thinking about how 3wLarry would like to have seen it while I was looking at it and dragging it out of the barn. I have a feeling he got a pretty good view from where he is at.

Your coupe is early production 32. The single finger hood hooks, the innie dash, the flat firewall. When you are cleaning it out check the front cross sill in front of the seat for the production plant and the number body it was down the line. I bet the serial number is early too.

My Tudor has the same features and was the 180th Tudor built in Des Moines.

  17. The serial number (VIN) should be stamped into the top of the left frame rail and visible without removing anything but rust and dirt. If the flywheel housing is original its will also be on a pad on the flywheel housing. The DMV will want to use the one on the frame. It will take the form of star AB 5000000 star and up. Check to be sure it matches the title before you do anything else.

  18. Here is what you are going to need to know when changing the engine to a V8. You can probably ignore a lot of these since the write up is oriented towards a restoration.

The following changes need to be made when replacing a Model B with a V8 (21 stud, others will require a few more things):

    Of course engine, motor mounts

Muffler and exhaust system before muffler (same after)

    Radiator

    Radiator support rods

    Engine steady rods

    Hubcaps

Starter switch (if it is early B with pull starter)

Transmission (gears interchange but cases are different)

    Choke (B is a cable, V8 is a rod)

    Accelerator linkage

    Engine splash pans

Gas line needs to be routed from right on Model B to left on V8

The B will have a few extra holes in the firewall pad from mounting the 4 cyl engine snubber

Need to add emblem to headlight bar

Need to accept the fact that the serial number (VIN) is for a 4 cylinder

What a great story and find. I know we're all hot rodders here but sometimes you've just got to be sympathetic with the build for certain cars that we're lucky to come across.

Doing to much somehow takes away from the history and story that the car holds and tells.

I really like the plan, doing the same with mine.
Congrats on the score of a lifetime.

  23. Congratulations! It's so cool to see they are still being found and rescued by someone like you that will preserve it and its history. Back in the 80's and 90's there were so many beautiful old Deuces that were found and then were blown apart, original parts sold off and built into smoothie billet street rods. And before that stock car racers destroyed hundreds of them. It just makes me sick to think about it. I'm so glad that doesn't happen very often anymore and "traditional" has become the norm.

And there's nothing wrong with hoarding Deuces, you just can't help it because its called the Deuce Disease and there is no known cure!

This weekend I plan on starting the process of cleaning it up.

Now that it is in my shop i can work on it a little bit at a time. I have a 48 Ford ragtop that needs to get started and finished first.

Here is a couple of pics of it in the garage.
