    Did this car sell?
    It's a beauty!

  3. I think it may have sold. I haven't seen it out.

  4. No. It's still for sale. I see it twice a week and keep trying to justify buying it myself. It is a nice car.
Post #96 has the info for it. Also in post #86 the cars in pics 1,2,4 are for sale at the same location same contact info.

  11. This truck belongs to the South Dakota state veterans home. I have to go inside their boiler room building to get a dumpster and it was parked in there all nice and warm.

Wow, looks like South Dakota has just the right climate for preserving cars. Do they not salt the roads out there? If those were in New England they'd be rotted from the door handles down.

  19. I don't think Western South Dakota uses salt that much but I'm not for certain. I know it's plenty dry out here. I was born and raised in East Tennessee and everything rusts away down there also.

  20. This is a high desert climate in Western South Dakota. And one thing most people don't realize, most of these cars are NOT for sale. A few are. But, there are/were two dealers in the region that bought up all they could for the last 40 years.

Always a treat to check in on this thread, thanks for taking the time & effort Racer29.
On salt, I had new cars back in the 70s-early 80s showing rust or blisters in a little over a years time.
GM basically said tuff shit. Ohio is brutal on daily drivers, & the reason I drive beaters for the most part.
    (excuse the hi-jack)
    Great thread Racer29!

  23. Still fun to gaze and wonder though. I don't need to buy anything else. Although that itch is always there. You getting close on the truck?

I love this thread. Spending my elementary school years in Rapid City and Spearfish and travelling all over the state to visit family in my dads station wagon, we saw lots of this stuff. Its amazing that so much of it is still there.

  27. Oddly enough- the view from my office is the garbage dumpster.

Racer29 thanks for sharing. Love to see all that tin out there waiting.
