I have a friend that is looking for his dad's old 55 Ford that had a Mercedes Benz motor in it. He said his dad was living in the college station area when his dad sold it. Any help/or information will be much appreciated.
Thanks to Ornery37 for posting this for me. The car was a '55 Ford although I'm not sure which model. I believe it was a 2 door. It had a MB drivetrain and full suspension. It had a joystick from an Apache helicopter for the shifter and each of the buttons/triggers did something on the car (doors/trunk/cruise/etc.). It was blue when my dad sold it and still blue in 2000 when someone on another board snapped some photos of the engine bay while at the Temple Academy strip. It was probably sold to the second owner around 1993 or so. Unfortunately my dad passed away in 1998 and I was never able to talk him into "giving" me one of his cars. Now that I'm older and wiser, I would really like to find one of his cars and see if the present owner is willing to part with it. If not, I would really like to get some pictures of the car to show my kids. My kids were very young when my dad passed, so it's all about memories. Thanks for reading.
Here are the only 2 pics I have been able to dredge up. Thank God photobucket is hanging on to them for me.
I'm from the area also,my dad makes a lot of local shows, called him and he dosen't recall seeing that car. We'll keep a look out.Gook luck
Thanks david363. I'm slowly but surely talking my wife into thinking it's a good idea for me to go to the local shows and strips.
It's definitely the same car. I think it will be ready to drive as soon as I can find a set of exhaust manifolds and a front bumper.
