What do think guys, should I go full fendered or high-boy? Will be traditional either way with a 56 olds 324 and buggy springs front and rear.
So you are asking for opinions. I am opinionated so I will give mine. Sedans look stupid without fenders so I would run fenders.
I'll go against the grain. I've had 3 full fendered deuce 2 doors and 2 chopped Highboy sedans. I enjoyed the highboys much more because they were black suede and just in my mind looked more like an old hot rod. I currently have a FF sedan delivery. If I live long enough I will build another black suede highboy sedan slammed on the ground like the others.
Guess it all depends on if you want a Hot Rod, or an old man's car, haha, joke. I'll go against the tide here, two door Sedans sure look great, Hot Rodded with no fenders. I do like em with fenders, but they don't have the presence of a chopped, hoodless, fenderless car, imo.
I don't have the funds for any 32, ,,,,so I started with a cut-off roof 5w that nobody wanted badly. I figured, heck, if I go no fenders, it's way cheaper, way less body work, less everything. It just never looked right to me, so I tried a pair of affordable (damaged) rear fenders, then added cycle fenders up front...nope, still looks awful. The problem was that I started building models in 59 or so, and where I grew up, there was not even one highboy, ever. It was channeled coupes with bobbed rears and cycles, or full fender. So, I can't wrap my fading memory around a highboy. I ended up with something like 1961-era Model kit or autorama cars here of that time. The hobby is what feels right to the builder, not really following other peoples memories from another era, and location. .
Mine is high boy. But I would fender- if I had them. every body here has some awesome 32s by the way Robert Jam - Hotrodprimer - F & J - Car Doctor - Basic BoB - Krylon32
I own a full fendered 32 Tudor (one rear fender and the running boards have never been off the car, ever), and there's no way I would ever take those fenders off. But if I was to build another Tudor I might do a highboy. Highboys are for guys who dont like bodywork.
