Hey everyone - just a friendly reminder that the 2nd Annual Bayou Round Up is coming up soon - October 7 & 8th in Lafayette, Louisiana - and pre-registration ends this weekend, so get over to http://www.bayouroundup.com for all the details and to register your car online. Everyone who came for the premiere event last year had a great time - Lafayette is a really cool town and the food and music can't be beat. Historic Blackham Coliseum is our home for the show on Saturday - and its an amazing backdrop - you'll feel like you've stepped back in time. This is a really fun laid back show that has the feel of some of the early days of the Lonestar Round Up in Austin - but with a distinctly Louisiana feel Dig @Ryan 's coverage from last year here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/?p=28789 This year we are doing a really cool cruise on Friday morning out to Avery Island to tour our newest sponsor - Tabasco's factory, museum and beautiful Jungle Gardens that you can drive through. Then on to Abbeville for oysters - and back downtown Lafayette to pick up registration and enjoy special reserved hot rod parking around Parc Sans Souci and hang out for the Downtown Alive! show with CC Adcock + Lafayette Marquis opening up for The Blasters. A special "secret" show by Jimmie Vaughan with Hammond B3 organ master Mike Flanigin and his Jazz Trio follows at Antlers (great downtown music venue/eatery dating back to the 1920's) Then all day Saturday the show goes on at historic Blackham Coliseum - hundreds of cars parked on the grounds, vendors, great local food and drinks, a swap meet - and live music all day onstage with vintage swamp pop vinyl being spinned by Alligator Chomp-Chomp, Wifee and the Huzz Band, Quintron & Miss Pussycat, Vicky Tafoya & the Big Beat and Jimmie Vaughan and the Tilt-a-Whirl Band After the show - there is a drive-in showing of American Graffiti at the Horse Farm Park just down the street - special admission for Bayou Round Up attendees. Then on Sunday we have one last cruise out to Pat's Fisherman's Wharf in Breaux Bridge for lunch by the water before heading back home. It really is a great show, and we hope you come join us for all the fun. All details are at http://www.bayouroundup.com and some great photos by our pal @BLAKE of all the action from last year...
