why are you limiting your search to pre 66 factory intakes? lots of aluminum intakes out there that will fit a 327. what are you building?

Most of our jokes involve either Ukrainians or beavers...;):DWhen I was commenting about 340hp corvette intakes, I overlooked the fact that you are in Germany. Its not like you are likely to find one at a swap meet, which is what I was thinking.
There are far better intakes available for less that would be period correct. Is there a reason why you feel that one of these aluminum 4gc intakes is what you specifically need? Can you elaborate on what it is you are building?
An Edelbrock C4B would be cheaper, work better and be from the same era. Or how about a C355B and three Rochester 2bbls?

No swap meets. No driving to someone near you to look at some parts.
It's not like with my Opel cars over here.
I can mostly search online on E-bay USA or here in "Parts for sale"
1966 is my personal limit. I want to build the car like it could be build before 1966.
I like this because there are not so much fancy muscle car parts availible before '66.
And I want to build it only with GM-parts and mostly with production and not with aftermarket parts.
Like a low budget project build togehter with parts from the junk-yard.
I will not paint the body keeping the patina and I will try not to paint parts - so far this is possible.
    Just use the patina.
I like the idea to use an aluminum intake and a rochester 4GC.
No multicarbcombo. To much adjusting. And I want to get a daily driver.
What "far better intakes available" would you prefer and why?

Perhaps if someone in the USA could help me by getting parts would be great.
So collect them and send different single parts in one box for example would save shippingtaxes.
And if someone could check parts before they are send over the atlantic would also be a big help.
When the parts arrive and they are rubbish it's not worth to send them back ...

C4B and C355B would both be pre-1966. C4B came out in late '65/early '66, C355B was earlier than that.

  7. Sorry I did not look to see if you had a wanted post. Good man, for doing it right. I do not have any of the ones you are looking for. I will keep my eye out for them and it just so happens I'm headed to Carlisle next week, so you never know. At the very least I can see what they are going for.

George Falcon, is it possible to see the production year of the Edelbrock C4B?
Do you have a list of casting numbers and features of Edelbrock intakes?

Dec. 1965 Hot Rod, standard 2 month magazine lead time, so you can figure on Oct. 1965.

Very cool! Good research! And the price is nearly the same 50 years later!

Try a wanted ad in the HAMB classifieds, they are not especially rare.

It is not the '63 340hp intake.
That does not have the two bolt hole between the carb pad and the distributor to mount the coil. The coil on Corvettes with that manifold had the coil mounted to the plug wire shield. I have the '63 340 manifold on my roadster.

If you mean the original Winters intake he posted from ebay, its not even remotely a 340hp intake, ne resemblance. The runner layout is completely different, the carb flange is different, and the 340hp intake is taller.
I would pass on the offy, I think the edelbrock C-4b is a better piece, be patient, you will find one.

While anything for "Corvette" is 3-4 times the money! Too many Corvette restorers and the unwavering"numbers matching" crowd have driven prices for some of the items you're looking at. Since you're in Deutschland, you may not be aware of that.

  23. And just a note to be cautious when dealing with people responding to your for sale adds. Check them out well, before sending any money.

"time frame" is a nice word.
Falcon George is that Offenhauser >>>in my time frame?
Is there any source where I can find out when the Offenhauser stuff was produced?
    ------------
Oh and I've recognized that the Hambers time frame ends 1965.
Thats's nice. So I will adapt my time frame to this.
By the way I think at the moment I have no parts collected younger than 1964.

Holy mackerel !! I'm gonna stop complaining about how much more it costs to build engines today. The '65 price on that C-4B at $92.50 was huge money back then.
$92.50 in 1965 had the same buying power as $701.24 in 2016. Annual inflation over this period was about 4.05%

Steffen it took every cent I made from 60' to 64' to build my 37' B/gasser, and I was driving 3 clunkers too a 50' Dodge - 50' Chevy and a 50' Ford to save money
