Such sad news. I was hoping he was going to pull though. I didn't know him personally but I like a lot of others lived vicariously thru him. He has touched more lives than he knew. God bless him and his family, they will be in our prayers.

On a separate but related note, have his grandchildren fully recovered from the accident?

It's ironic how someone you have never met can have such a strong affect on you, I guess it must be the passion we all share for this hobby. R.I.P. RON

All I can say is.....fuck. It's a horrible thing when one of us gets taken out in our cars. The passion that brings us life, brings us much pleasure, also kills us.
Godspeed Ron, you showed us how it was done, how to truly enjoy our hobby, how to live life.

  11. Very sad news. I admired his car at Jalopyrama last year but never caught up to Mr Hickman to tell him so. My condolences to his family.

  16. Ron was taken from us way too soon in such a cruel way, from someone's inattention and carelessness. And the irony of it being so close to home after all the miles Ron put on his Hot Rods since he rolled out his 3W 11 years ago. I'll bet he put a 100,000 miles in that car and he already had over 10,000 miles on the roadster. Ron drove sun up to sun down and loved every minute of it in an old Ford. Keep driving with Godspeed my friend.

My thoughts are will Holly and his family and I thank God the girls came through this OK.

Have been following daily on Facebook with Prayers & Positive thoughts, but today I learned of Ron's passing. My first thought was Oh, f--k! I will continue with Prayers & Thoughts in this families time of need. RIP Ron

  20. This is not the news we were praying for,my heart goes out to Holly, their children & grandchildren and the many friends that will morn the loss of such a big man, both in stature and his zest for life.

I consider myself lucky for having met Ron when he joined us on the All Deuce Run a few years ago,Ron was the real deal and loved hot rods and his family.

We weren't ready to say goodbye but God had a different plan for Ron and he is no longer suffering, the family will continue to be in my daily thoughts & prayers for the strength they will need in the weeks, months & years to follow, may the Good Lord bless and keep you.

    God speed Ron! HRP

It is funny how this little forum has introduced through others posts, and experiences some of the finest people that I have not met in person. I am truly saddened by the loss of another of our H.A.M.B friends. God speed Ron, may you rest in peace. Prayers to his Holly, his children and grandchildren.

Not the end result I was hoping for. I'm truly sorry to hear this but I will take a couple grand kids for a ride
    on Saturday in his memory.
