Folks Of Interest PASSING OF RON HICKMAN

It is with a heavy heart that I have been asked to let you know that Ron passed away a short time ago. Holly and members of his family were by his side.

Ron fought hard for weeks following the accident and the thoughts, prayers and support from so many was of great comfort to Holly and all of his family.

I am reminded of the dash, that is the dash between a date of birth and a day of passing. The dash is that time between those dates, what we do with it, the lives we touch, the love we express, the mark we make. Ron did so much in his dash. Over the past weeks so many thoughts, stories and pictures have captured just a portion of that dash. He was devoted to his family, parents, children, grandchildren as well as countless friends but most of all his Holly. We are all the better for knowing Ron and he will forever linger in our thoughts.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held at a future date and those details will be posted here.

God speed Ron Hickman.

Wow, here we go again. I was following his progress ever since the accident. For a while there it seemed encouraging that he was going to make it.

Sorry to see this. My condolences to family and friends.

 

So sorry to hear about Ron. He was a giant who fought a long hard battle with his injuries. He will be missed and my condolences to Holly and his family. He will be at peace now.

I didn't know Ron personally, but my wife and I have been following his story and the updates here and on Facebook since the accident. We will keep all of his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers. God Speed Ron!
