That looks like a Model Y Ford - the predecessor to the Anglia.
Three SU carbs, DOHC, I'm guessing Jag power.

The "Jim's A/A" shot (post above) is none other than the Wild Man himself, Mr. Willie Borsch.

  7. Yep, that's Willy before he was "Wild". Jim Harrell was the original owner of the Winged Express. Before it was Marcellus & Borsch, it was Harrell & Borsch.

Here are some pics of "Hanks Tank" or simply "The Tank" Model A altered out of Shreve Automotive in Louisianna. The color pic came from a June 2014 Hemmings article called Them Changes. The later version with mags was posted by blackrat40 in another thread and is after it left the Shreve stable. 2016-09-15-14-14-29--1784913942.jpg 2016-09-15-14-14-35-342947635.jpg 2016-09-14-21-55-01--1784913942.jpg 2016-09-15-14-15-27--1701865444.jpg

Not sure of the player in this photo, but one for sure looks like Marcellus on the right. Car says Harrell and almost looks like Willy on the left with hair...Don't know for sure.. Also can't remember who to give credit for the photo, sorry.

  11. That's Jim Harrell's first roadster. Don't know who drove it, but your right mark, that is "Mousie".

While my mom shopping at the Roger Wilco market, I was next door, at Rexall, looking at Wild Willey Borsch, Model kits.

Pure hell and Linda Car owner Rich Guasco, left, and driver Dale Emery were joined in the winner’s circle by Linda Vaughn after one of their many AA/FA victories with the Pure Hell roadster. This was the early version of the car equipped with a blown small-block Chevy.

    See email.jpg

When Emery and Guasco upgraded the Pure Hell entry with a supercharged Chrysler Hemi, the increased performances made their AA/Fuel Altered one of the most powerful in the country

Leon Fitzgerald’s first fuel altered began life as an A/FA with an injected 402-cid small-block but later ran this supercharged 327, which placed it in AA/FA.

Fitzgerald’s original AA/FA was later given a new paint scheme with the name "Pure Heaven" in order to increase the rivalry with Rich Guasco and his potent Pure Hell entry.

The "Pure Heaven II" was built over the winter of 1965 to accommodate the just-released Chevrolet 427-cid big-block engine.

Jack Ditmars first gained national attention with his second Lil’ Screamer ’34 Ford, near lane, that he began racing in 1963. It dominated the fierce B/A class competition through 1967.

  29. Anyone here get that t-bucket boddied altered on Appleton, WI Craigslist last week ?
Looked to be a 60's build with twin tube frame rails, tunnel ram (later addition? ) sbc with magneto, Eelco tank, 5 spoke spindle mounts, 5 spoke mags out back all looking like magnesium. All for the low price of 3 grand !
