Sure! Our Grandson is 4 and would love to see the chopper, he's still using training wheels on his bike. Bob DSCF4657.JPG

  5. Heck yeah Asher, bring it on as I would think most of us car guys started " Customizing " our bikes long before we were allowed behind the steering wheel of Dad's car. I know I was one of those kids. You also enjoy helping your Dad as the time you spend just watching how he does things, you will be surprised at how much you learn and remember, case in hand is I would be standing talking with my wife while she got dinner going and when she departed, I was so surprised at how much I could do in the kitchen cooking for myself but I am digressing so you show us your Chopper please.

That is either one very tall 11 year old or one very low Desoto.

  9. That is one cool chopper.
I was around his age, when I put a Villiers two stroke lawnmower engine into a pushbike.
Unfortunately, I got the gearing wrong, so it didn't go more than five miles an hour, but I sure used to have fun revving up the engine.

That seat pan reminds me of a Ed Roth 3 wheeler seat! I like the Jetson's Tail light too! Good Job Asher!

Yes, but his photo is still there, think the mods removed the bike photos since they are off topic, no big deal. Glad we saw the photos when they were up. Bob

If they make an exception for one, they have to make an exception for all. It snowballs at that point.

Like Monkey said, put it in a pic of your car and it'll be fine. Whatever you do, don't stop your build thread. One of my favorites.

Your son can always post his build over on the Jockey Journal site. Sister ship to the Jalopy Journal. They love that kind of stuff.

They quickly took it wlaway when i would sneek out at night push it to the canal and ride 3 miles to my best friends house and drink beer then ride it back before they got up. Im now building a 67 or something triumph its just a roller now but i hope to ride it to born free next year. So lets see it man

  27. Just woke up on a nice Spring morning, jumped on, and checking updates.
Don't worry about Asher's chopper being removed, be happy they didn't delete the whole thread.
It is easy to get a little OT, which then can snowball.
As someone said, put the chop in the right place, then maybe put a link here, for those interested.
That way, the boy gets to shine, and it will help his motivation, and we still get to watch you build this wicked Desoto.
So what's the next plan with the car?

I'm into earlier style bikes then the 70's stuff, but that bike is rad!!
Tell him to get busy on that. People wanna see it finished now!
Plus he's gotta get busy if he's gonna keep up with dads progress!

  30. Thanks for working a way of showing the Desoto as I missed the first photo's too. What can I say, man, you can be rightly proud of that young man for what he has accomplished so far on his build. Time you both spend together in the workshop is ultra special and teaching Asher your skills will steer him on a great road of work ethics and accomplishment in his future. I wish I had a Dad who wanted to spend time teaching me when I had shown interests in cars etc.
