Nor sure if this is the correct place, but here goes. Considering selling my 1938 Ford humpback sedan as I've amassed too many projects again, and I'm wondering what ballpark it should be priced in. I know there's no definitive #, that's why I say ballpark. It's a '38, I'm the second owner, and it's got 16,000 miles on the clock. Body is extremely straight and clean, with only a few small rust spots under the trunk lid area. All the stainless is near perfect, 2 small bars missing on the right side, but are in the glovebox. Floors are absolutely solid, basically only a few small dings and dents on the body. Bone stock with the flathead V8 and 3 speed, even has the original Ford script tires still on it- including the spare! The interior was roached and stinky, so I gutted it- but all the door panels and seat springs are still there. I have not tried to start it, but don't believe it to be stuck. It rolls and steers freely, all the windows works, doors are solid, etc. Any idea where to start pricing at? Thanks

Where you are at will make a world of difference. I see an Iowa plate in one pic, so I personally think about $7,000 is a good starting point here in the Midwest.

The body looks to be in very good shape and the 38 standards are starting to come on in the market.. I think it's worth $6000-$8000...

I wish my interior were as clean as yours!! I pulled the plugs on mine last night and shot oil into the cylinders- haven't tried to hand bar it over yet, but I think it's ok. I also think it's cool that it still has a tag on the radiator explaining that it has antifreeze in the system! I was guessing about the same range you mention so that's reassuring- just didn't know if the extreme low mileage would make much of a difference? Thanks!

Are you going to sell it or build it???

  9. Do you know if it's the 85 horsepower engine or the V8 60?
