This engine appeared in a thread on FB with no attribution as to from whence it came. It is a V8 obviously, and that logo on the valve cover is tugging at me, but I cannot, for the life of me, recall what it is. The engine is going into a hot rod A coupe. Can anyone help me figure out what this engine is? mystery engine.jpg

Here is a better picture of the engine from the rear.

Hard to tell from the pic but the logo seems to resemble a blue bird bus logo..

That was my first impression also, but I 'googled' the company and as you show - wrong direction, not same depiction.

Yeah it was somewhat of a shot in the dark, I'm on my phone instead of a computer so I couldn't make it out very well. It didn't occur to me about it facing the opposite direction until after I posted it. Got me curious though, hard to pass up a good mystery!

From the surroundings in the photo perhaps it's a marine engine of some kind

Thinking perhaps the Emi-Sul semi-hemi that Simca made for their Brazilian passenger car, but I'll have to continue research on line and find a photo.

I thank all of you - the power of the H.A.M.B. is undeniable. Y'all are the MENSA group for hot rodders and other gearheads.
