I wanted to share this and get some opinions. I was out in central Texas this weekend and went car spotting based in a tip from a family member. In this case, there turned out to be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I hear the owner may be willing to start letting stuff go. I can only hope, but it will probably be too expensive for me anyways even if he does. (For the record, this shot was in town and taken from a public parking lot, I was not on anybody's private property) Anyway, here is some barn find porn.

Any thoughts on what a fair value would be for one of these...its easy to get emotional and I don't want to get taken for a ride.

Even the rustiest 32 coupe bodies seem to be going for 10 grand. Any better or more complete only adds to the price.

A 3-window (maybe 2) and a 5-window? Be still my heart! Then there's the pickup in the foreground. Five figure bodies unless they're complete rust buckets (unlikely in Texas).

There was two five windows, the three window, the pickup and some other assorted cars. I am pretty sure I saw a Plymouth coupe (33ish) as well off stage left. I can't stop thinking about them and can't wait to get back to town to see if I can at least get on property to scope them out. I am not sure, is that three window a 33/34 (check out the firewall)?

  5. You can bet your ass,The owner knows exactly what he has and their worth...

  6. Lotta luck, they have been there a long time and will probably be there a lot longer,he knows what they are worth. HRP

  7. That probably means 10,000 other people have seen them and 9,999 have tried to buy them. Rotsa Ruck!

I just coughed soda on my phone looking at that pic. Holy shit. Someone's gonna be a lucky guy...

  9. Just a question, (I'm broke so it's not in my near future), but;

there are stock Ford Coupes running and registered all over New England, (so I'm sure they're everywhere) for $11,000, sometimes less, wouldn't that be a better start than a rusty body for $10,000?

I might hesitate to take a sawz all to one, but I would come to my senses and get over that really quick.[IMG]

Huge difference in value between a model a coupe and a 32-34 coupe

Clunker....comparing like body styles...32-34 Fords are worth a minimum of 2X the price of a Model A...more often 3X plus....

dreaming is OK but, the reality is that you need to talk to the owner of all of those rides and go from there - you are not likely going to be the first in line wanting to buy

hmm...that grouping of cars looks real familiar, like I've seen pics on the sitting and rotting thread. If I recall they're not for sale or if they are the owner is asking an unrealistic price.

  17. Got it, right. Haven't seen a deuce that low, true. Didn't realize the difference was 3X. Thx. Still learning. I know the mystique and rarity of the B Coupes, just don't get it I suppose, I like The A's I've seen.

What would the 33ish Plymouth coupe be worth?

  19. As long as you are banging on something I reckon, and the prom queen probably can't cook as good as the chess club captain ."A"s are good looking and within reach.

    Lol...great analogy.

  21. Assuming equal condition and completeness, I'd choose a '33 Plymouth coupe over a '32 Ford. I'm tall and long-legged with big feet, and the Plymouth has more leg and foot room. I know, a friend from high school had a '34 Plymouth sedan, and a guy in the church where I was pastor back in the late '70s at Shannon GA had a '33 Plymouth coupe. Plus you can buy the Plymouth coupe for less, since they're not as popular as the Fords. The Plymouth frame is friendlier to engine and driveline swaps than a '32 or '33-34 Ford frame.
