Folks Of Interest Blackie Gejeian passed away this afternoon

I've seen on several message boards this evening that the legendary Blackie Gejeian passed away this afternoon at the age of 90. I always thought he was the definition of cool. He gave a lot to the rod and custom world and will be missed. Godspeed, Mr. Gejeian. Rest in Peace.

 

R.I.P Blackie. May you have blue skies and green lights.

Blackie was a great guy, I first met him at the '98 Portland Roadster Show. Our paths crossed many times in the following years, always a fun visit. This is a picture I took of him, along with Roy Brizio and Lonnie Gilbertson, all AMBR Winners. RIP Blackie.

Sad day when you see that. I think I first read about him and his roadster when I was 12.
I saw him at that same 1998 show that Marty met him at. I got to listen to him and a couple others swap stories for a couple of minutes.

 

RIP Hoss, you were special! I'll miss talking to you at the GNRS. You had a ton of friends.

Very sad news, R.I.P. Blackie.

 

We all have only so much time on this earth, and unfortunately, we are at the time where many of the men we admire and respect are running out of that time. Godspeed Blackie, to you, the ones who preceded, and the ones who will follow.

 

Another icon passes on.....Thank you Blackie for your many contributions to our Hobby. May you rest in peace.

Wow - pretty sure that he was at the Goodguys West Coast Nats Saturday - thought I saw him riding his scooter, looked much thinner. Sincere sympathy goes out to his Family, friends & fans

 

Sad news - his modified is a major inspiration to me

 

Another legend enters Heaven's Hot Rodding Hall of Fame. You showed us all the definition of Kool. Rest in Peace.
