Consider putting that mirror on the dash, maybe a dome lite would cover the old holes

My '51 Victoria has its rear view mounted to the center divider, about halfway from top to bottom. It's the stock arrangement for a Vic. I don't imagine that Ford sold Victorias in NZ, but you could probably get the necessary stock parts from a shoebox specialist like the guy in OK. Or not.

Thanks, I picked it up a couple of months ago. So far I have rebuild the ends of the hinge pillars, and put in the driver and passenger side floor supports. I'll be installing the new rocker panels next, then the floors

Hey everyone just visiting this thread again my shoebox has been in storage for a few years and man I am getting the urge to get back at it !!

About 6 years ago I installed Fatman fab subframe under the front but I think I want to go back to factory front end parts so I may end up hunting for a good frame

Why would you go back to factory?

I want to go back to flathead, it says you can't use flathead with Fatman fab subframe.
Plus I feel it will be easier for me to get body mounted along with radiator and such

I have had subframe installed for some time and I still have not bought all my control arms and spindles to get it movable

My '49...351W/C6 re-powered. Bought in June '16 and got it running by October all DIY/lone-wolf style.

Nice '50 coupe! Looks like a great starting point. That Fulton visor is worth ~$500 on ePay if you're not going to use it. I sold mine and was surprised by the amt of money it brought. I was also surprised by the amt of fees they charged and wish I'd just sold it here on the HAMB. Lesson learned. Good luck w/ the project!

Here's mine, had it for a few years now. I lowered it with cut springs in the front, blocks in the back. Rebuild the original rear end, overdrive transmission, and built a stroker flatty. I don't get to drive it much due to the girlfriend taking it over, but I think its pretty cool to have a girlfriend that loves to drive a 3 speed on the column.

I'm not sure but I don't think the profile of the 51 grill bar is the same as the notched area in the Chevy teeth. You would have to shape the teeth openings to fit as long as they weren't too big in some areas already. Also you would have to drill holes to mount the teeth. Chevy bars are pretty reasonable but you have to use two to span the opening of the 51 between the corner pieces above the turn signals. One bar has to be split, then used on each side of the other bar. 54 Chevy Grill bar3.jpg 54 Chevy Grill bar with 9 teeth HAMB Shoebox Grilles.jpg Lakewood 50 LF-HAMB 8648345.jpg

[IMG] The 50 Ford in the pictures is the one that i now own. Bought it from HAMB member in Lakewood Washington. I am under the impression that the grille mods were made before he bought the car but I did take some pictures when I was taking all apart for the changeover to Flashback 50 (project is on HAMB). Here are a couple of images that might help explain what was done to make this one 'work'. Regards, bob

I have an sbc in our 50 Ford Flashback project but am not sure the the Hooker headers we have are what you are asking about. By long tube do you mean individually laid parallel stack with no muffler? We have 3 inch collector transition to 2 1/4 inch exhaust with Hush Power mufflers. If you are interested in that be glad to provide some details. bob
