Yes I've looked but am unable to find the same brakes as I have. Any idea what years front and rear brakes on my pics? And how to adjust both? Is the top just simply tightening the two top bolts till the brakes grab then back off?

    Thanks.

  2. A couple of photos of the front with the drums off would help.

  3. These are the adjustments for the front. HRP

  4. The rear adjust like most other cars & trucks with the slot at the bottom. HRP

The fronts are 42-48 Ford brakes, I think.
    The rears are later.

top ones are 46-48 ford, bottom ones have a metal or rubber plug hiding the slot where you will put a flat adjusting tool in.

No reason to take off drums for us to guide you..

Rear brake line is dangerously low, IMO

The bolts have an eccentric on the inside of the backing plate. You turn the bolt to move the brakes out to contact the drum. I forget which direction moves to extends or retract the brake shoes against the drums. You may have to pull the drums and check it out. alex

You only have to turn the bolt a half turn or so.

You seem to be missing a bolt below the brake line.

    Actually no.

There is and extra hole in the backing plate that should not be there.

There are only three holes, so you are forced to put the wheel cylinders, which have two different sized pistons, in the correct direction.

If your wrench is pointed straight up, swing it away from the axle, to move the shoes toward the drums. The opposite direction for away. The adjusters are mirror images of each other.

They shouldn't move very far either. I'd pull the drums/hubs and check the lining, pack the wheel bearings and scope out the adjusters so I had a good idea of how they work. Gimpy's suggestion works well.

Yeah, I think that the entire adjustment range is maybe 3/16", or less.
