Fantastic! I love the color combination. Laying it down as smooth as glass doesn't hurt either! The attention to detail is top shelf!

  5. Thanks everyone :)

I don't often have people help me work on the car, but on sunday my brother and our mate Chris came round to help me set the motor and trans in place. Was so satisfying.

And my friend Heloise came around to bring us celebratory cake! She took this sneaky pic of us admiring our days work. Thats me in the middle by the way.

  8. I have really enjoyed watching the build! Top notch craftsmanship! Your brake pedal setup did give me some ideas on my DB coupe build. The paint is killer!

I have been looking at the hamb for around 12 months without signing up - this build was almost solely the reason I signed up so I could follow it closely. Very very motivating.

  11. Your moving right along! Looks good!

  12. Thanks everyone, it's amazing to hear that the shit i get up to in my tiny shed in Guernsey is inspiring people on the other side of the world. It's totally awesome :)

It's always pissed me off that ford wheel cylinders only have three bolt holes, so i bought 4 new ones and drilled and tapped the extra hole.

I had to shorten my handbrake lever by 4 inches now that the car is channeled, to stop it fouling the dashboard.

The crappy old thumb button held in with a roll pin wasn't going to cut it, so i cut an external thread on the rod and knocked up a new polished stainless one from an old bolt on my beloved 1950's Raglan lathe. Much better.

Love this build. I was in/on Guernsey last summer on a vacation with my wife. I was there the day after the hillclimb. There was a car show downtown that I did not know about until we got back on the ship and the friends we went over with asked me if we saw the car show. Beautiful place with lots of WWII history and would like to go back there again.

Wow - for a sign writer your fabrication skills are pretty good!... and for a twenty six year old for that matter. Great build so far.

You do amazing work in that small shed of your's! Your taste is clean and simple and spot on!

  24. Yet again, sorry for the delay! I've been super busy with boats and other things but i've gradually been chipping away at the chassis, mostly painting and fitting parts.

I won't bother writing too much as it's all pretty obvious, so here are some photos.
