    Just seeing this thread for the first time. Holy crap its cool! What a score in the truck alone, and then to find the original art still hiding under that cover!

    There are. Earlier this year, I answered an ad on local Craigslist for a '40 standard hood. The hood was gone, but he mentioned he had a lot of tools and shop equipment he was selling. We started talking, turned out he had been fabbing panels and doing bodywork on hot rods around here since the early sixties, but his health was deteriorating, so he was retiring.
    I went to see him, we wound up spending hours pouring over old photo albums and talking about various cars and people we both knew.
    I wound up doing a deal to buy almost all his old equipment, with a proviso that he have access to it, and pass down as much of his know-how as he can. As I have been reading this, some of the parrallels are striking. Great story.

    Can't believe I missed this baby , the first time around. I agree it's one of the jewels in the HAMB crown. But... We need the next chapter!!!
