That was Edison Generator, Route 1 South in Edison. They were a automobile electrical shop. They're still there and so is the upside down car.

This is our "Chevy on a stick". Our city government found fit to giving an "artist" an insane amount of our tax dollars to stick a 54 Chevy 4 door up on a pedestal and cover it with ceramic tile. It's suppose to represent our local culture??
No pic but a friend of mine has a late 40's Chevy 1 1/2 ton tow truck on a pole to advertise his truck salvage yard and we also have one of those Peterbuilt on poles at our local Peterbuilt dealer.

 

There used to be one real similar to this on South Broadway in Wichita. I don't remember the name of the place and couldn't find a photo but it was a starter/generator/alternator rebuild shop.

Here's a google maps image of the truck in Twisp WA. There also was a 31 Chevy 5 passenger coupe on a pole in Utica Michigan for years, eventually it was removed and sold.

this one is different, but it is on poles

 

I visited that museum about 20 years ago.

 

I figured it was probably a Plymouth but I'm not sure how you're supposed to know what year it is from that side view....

 

It might have been in 'Christine' but it sure wasn't the star...but now it has the pole position Sorta like the Reliant of the fifties. They were the same for so many years only little changes. Thanks...

Two honorable mentions, a scrap yard on 45 South about 15 miles north of Mobile, Alabama, had a 62 Tempest convertible on a pole, transaxle and all, and in Jackson Mississippi, the car lot of the late Horace Slay had a mid 60s Corvette on a pole , he sold hot rods, muscle cars, sports cars on State Street.
