Let's see your "unique" hub caps and wheel covers.

These are wheelcovers that are held in place by stock Ford or Mercury hubcaps . Fronts fit 4" wheels , rears are for 4,5" wheels. ( `40-`48 Ford KH ) Found them on Ebay, .. I have no idea who made them , but IMHO : they sure look cool

I have put Corvette 2 bar spinners on them, the ones from the 58/62. Don't have any pics though.

Nothing special here, just thought I'd point out that you can get some of the tall drag racing lug studs under a small re-pro Ford hubcap.

Although these are actually long bolts with threads all the way to the thinner than normal head.
Supplied with the Dutchman alloy axles.

Measure for clearance with a small ball of modeling clay on the end of the stud before you pop the caps all the way on.

6" x 15" double pattern steel wheel fwiw.
3" backspace.
56" wide axle.

 

the small "hub caps"(because they cover only the hub) were called poverty caps, because you must be poor because you can't afford full wheel covers. that's all there is to it. mostly tongue in cheek of course.

if oy look closely in the pic, you can see a star shaped object in the reflection of the hubcap, that's another unique one i need to post pics of, it's a radir looking "mag" insert hubcap for steel wheels...

I was think the same thing for a set I have. I might just go with simple bullets. I'm kinda tired of the Caddy emblems.

 

I ran these for a while as a tribute to the So-cal coupe and Belly tanker. A buddy of mine that worked in an Elevator factory cut them out for me. There a 1/16th inch thick.. Kinda heavy. In the rear I ran a "Dummy" bolt with a nut and cotter key to simulate a Banjo Rearend...
I didn't realize how good this worked till I did it. The outter most part of an early ford steelie center(Where the four bolt are) is on the same plane as the outer rim... So, you don't get any distortion or "sucking" in.
Ol' Alex had it figured out.. Not as cheep looking as a moon disc, but has that cool simple look.

 

The french curve Ford aftermarket hubcap on what I was told was a Buick 1935 wheel (16x5"). I think it looks pretty cool. Only unique hucaps I have anyway.

 

I made these up roughly 20 years ago. Series 09 Vintique wheels running 33-34 Ford "V-8" stainless hubcaps and my custom O-ring retainers.

These are Chrysler spinners from 1956 -- '55-56 was the golden era for spinner hubcaps, IMO. They are very rare -- I've only seen two sets, both on original Chryslers -- but I scored a set on eBay and am restoring them (replating the spinner centers, which were badly pitted):

 

Regarding the '57 Caddy caps, I got tired of the bullet centers, and took the trim ring and medallion out of some Sombreros and put them in the center. The car is dark grey and the grey in this pic came out too light...

I just started a thread and then noticed this one. Are these trim rings factory or aftermarket for 37 Chevy? We're in the trunk of my grandfathers coupe.

Hi, I've got five like this, 4 good and one not so good. I think the centers on yours were for Desoto, I have one like that. My other 4 are Chrysler centers. I was going to use these on my 1952 Plymouth Suburban but not going to now. I would sell mine if you know someone interested.
