Will try to get up with the Jalopy this weekend...A premier hotrod event for these parts for sure. Thanks for the heads up Hightower...
Well, finally some mention about the 2016 Jalopy Jam Up. ( Canada's premier traditional hot rod show) I was beginning to wonder if this year's Jam Up would be going on or not as quite frankly I haven't seen or heard any advance publicity about the show until now. Not like other years when there was a ton of show advance publicity. Good for you John, for getting the word out!!!!
I have a fairwheather hotrod and forfeited my opportunity to visit this event due to Mr. Wheatherguy I got apprehensive. Even switched my workweek to do it too. So yeah I'm waiting to see how things are going. Have a good time all.
Went and it was awesome as always. Don't have any pictures but here is a link to event pictures. http://ontariorodderscomunity.activeboard.com/t62536634/jalopy-jamup/ Warren
I would also like to throw out a huge thank you to Jeff, Jay and Brandon for their dedication to this event. Also to the sponsors who stepped up to make it happen.. It was predicted to rain all weekend but the hot rod gods stepped up and kept the rain to between 3 and 4 in the morning. If you haven't attended or stayed home because you thought the weather was going ruin things, mark it on your calendar for next year, you won't be sorry. Warren
It was a great time and well worth the 1450 mile drive from South Florida. What's that in kilometers? Lee
Hey us guys on the west coast need to see some pics! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I spent most of my time socializing. I don't think I even really looked at most of the cars, other than a cursory glance as I walked past them. Here are a few snaps of the ones that caught my eye...
First time attending but it won't be the last! Fantastic show, thanks to everyone who put so much effort into organizing such a great event.
Better late than never. Flickr for photo hosting is becoming a pain in the ass, but I finally got some pics uploaded. Seemed a little quieter than last year, but those of us that embrace the show have a damn blast no matter what. We've survived snow and hotter-than-hell heat, got a little wet this year, but not enough to dampen our spirits. HUGE thanks to Jeff, Jay and Brandon for putting this on. HUGE thanks to all the friends, family members and WIVES! for helping out and letting us play with our toys. Everywhere Chuck goes, a rainbow follows him around... it's kinda freaky... Just don't bring it up with him, he gets kinda testy... Don't get too close to Jay, you don't know where that tongue has been... well, now you do... Lotsa nice cars...
On the way home we stopped at this ol' dealership in Durham. It was a Ford dealership in the late 1920's, sold Model A's just like Larry's... well, maybe not exactly like Larry's... Some time in the '60s it became an AMC dealership, then Chrysler, then it shut down. Still got some interesting stuff inside, especially if you're into AMC stuff...
