Wow Steve, I've not been on here as much as I used to, but was happy to see your thread had update, but then I opened it. I see you're still working hard on the truck tho', your a very focused guy, so I'm sure you'll make the best of the situation. The truck's going to be great when its finished.

Good to hear you are feeling better Steve.
    A little tale (true).
Around 1970, two juniors in high school, me and a bud thought we would change the leaking rocker covers on his moms 59 Ford, and while under there; desludge the heads and covers because they were "a mess", that car never ran right after that.

Steve you are an artist. Hated to hear about the cancer. Keep up the fantastic work. I like stealing your ideas when I can.

Yeah I was really surprised Tom, I don't really know anything about the motor as I bought it blind from a friend about 10 years ago for $100 who was using it to hold back a big door. I sold the 3 speed box and shifter for $100
It was only when I checked the numbers I found it was a 59 292 out of a truck with a forged crank

I got the chassis out of storage yesterday, it has been blasted clean but unfortunately got done just before I went into hospital so has flash rusted slightly, it makes doing the last bits of welding easier though, once all done I will get it freshened up as the blaster is only a couple of miles away.

The centre section front legs were a little tight on the trans, I tried to alter what was already there but it was too time consuming so chopped the old ones off and will get some new metal folded tomorrow.

I had previously made some of the ladder bar front mounts but hadn't finished them, so that was today's job

Keep after it, mate. Have had a Hospital stay with some lingering issues myself in the last month. Managed to make it to Bonneville, but am slow as heck in the Shop as yet. Mortgage won`t pay itself though, and, lets face it--we are too stubborn to throw in the towell !!!

Steve, viewing your work is always interesting and inspiring. As I may have said before you just don't build a bracket or seat support, you fabricate an interesting, functional work of art.
