Decided to switch to a bbc. Going with a 510 bbc tall deck. Solid roller ported n polished 990's with a tunnel ram and dual 750 holleys. I'll post pics and dyno numbers in about 3-4 weeks. Hoping to make around 675 hp.

Motor was dyno'd today. End up making 655 and almost 600 ft lbs of torque. Pretty good for pump gas!

Heard a "little" kid make a comment about a similar 55 Gasser to yours a few years back; "Dirty, Bad, Mean, and Nasty", came out of his mouth clear as a bell. How he came up with that I had no idea; he was only 10-12 years old. Then I saw his T-Shirt; that "comment", on a 55 Gasser, on his T-Shirt. I'd say that comment pretty much describes yours; might even make for a good name. Nice work for sure! I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

    Car looks great. Nice job.

  10. Reading through your thread, I saw a few things I didn't like, but a whole lot I did.
I was thinking, your new air cleaner didn't look the part, and you need a glass tilt front end.
Glad to see you changed it up, now it's bad ass.
The engine swap really nailed it.
Nice work, and I love the color.
Is the signage real paint, or stickers.

It's stickers. I incorporated my kids' names into each sticker.

  15. What was your ET / MPH at the track? That's a whole lot of horsepower and torque with no boost. Running some compression in the big block I guess.

Compression is 10.5 to 1. Premium gas only with additive. I’ll just say i had to slow it down to run D gas 10.60. Mph was 126.

Back when you cut the frame off and added the rectangular tuBing for the front axle, what place did You use for a reference point for level? Firewall? Frame under the floor? I am going to do mine soon

Before cutting I leveled the frame and used that for future level. Using the firewall can be unpredictable depending on condition of body rubber mounts.

Anyone? Bueller? What part of the car do you level? I'm thinking the frame under the front seat might be good

Just found this thread and read through it. This thing is awesome! The new paint was nice but it's really going to look good. Check out Justin Moses 56 chevy that runs with SEG.

Just before the cut line and underneath seat area. The more spots the better.
