Cool thank you with the fenders and wires it feels so much later then the 60's so I'm curious to see what changes may have been done over the span of its existence. Always see a hotrod or custom change threw the years
Plus all the suspension is older too nothing newer than 1940 Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Are you talking about the Fordor or the blue roadster? The front wishbone frame brackets on the Fordor sure look alot like Chassis Engineering items. So the chassis has had some work on it during the past 20 years.
don't have it in my possession yet shipping taking forever I'll take pictures when it arrives Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Here's close up front suspension I don't see any chassis engineering stuff Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Can't see the axle, but the rest looks old stuff. See how they did the rear mount for the split bones?, they put the tierod end on the inside of bracket, and you get more tire clearance that way on tight turns, old school cool. the leaf spring ends look straight cut, not modern shitty looking ones hopefully it does not have the modern lower shock mounts...but I'd bet is doesn't .
I still like it w/the fenders. Assuming you got them, it'd be well worth keeping them, to be able to change looks fairly easily. Marcus...
Ditch the interior? Original? NO WAY!! WAY KOOL!! Fix what needs to be fixed. Yeah maybe fenders. If the paint is original? try and color match it.
Man I had to crack up on that interior. I have a buddy who has a Model A Coupe with almost the same interior less other than the color. Called him up and had him come over so that I could take a picture.
Does anybody know the color? looking like the Bakan coupe color Tahitian Red Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Where is that car coming from anyway ? I've hesitated to comment, but how many other purplish '34 Fords, with red velvet interiors could there be ? The seats used to match, but were on red velvet risers. The fenders were starred from rocks hitting the under side which is common with 'glass fenders, of course. The Tru-spoke wheels were on it too. Blue dot lights, chrome dual horns. What did it for me was seeing the etched rose glass in your last photo. He didn't build it .... but Butch Smith of Beckley West Virginia owned that car thirty years ago. I'll see if I can get my dad, to get a hold of him and a picture album. Believe it or not, it was a daily driver at the end of Hoist Road, in Stanaford West Virginia ... in '82 and '83.
KidCampbell; that would be terrific if it's the car. 82/83 was 30+ years ago and info/photos from Butch may reveal some history/owners of the car back into the 70's and perhaps earlier. It's always cool to see history coming along with a Rod or Custom.
Coming from Dearborn Michigan thanks kidcampbell for the history on the car Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Lol, I'm almost certain that is the same car, as well ... knowing Butch the way I do from then ... anything that can lick an ass, wouldn't be licking his face. He is a 1964 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Beckley WV. Voted one of the city's best all time athletes. Wife Becky Smith. Daughter Ashley, chiropractor. He's probably not on FB. I emailed the pictures to my dad. Stay tuned. Butch is his best friend from high school, and our next door neighbor when I was 12. I think he traded a 76 or 77 Corvette for this car. It was just something to play with, for a little while. I kept thinking it was a two door ... but too much points back to it being this one. The rose etched glass was the kicker. I do remember my mom getting loaded into the passenger side rear ... so I think that means a rear door. It was a cool driver, that made a couple of trips to Jimmy's Place, and the Elks Lodge with two pretty cool couples. What a great memory.
Here it is outside too be loaded in the carrier but the guy said the carrier broke down in front of his house and the carrier is named reliable LOL Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I dig this car either way, but if it were me, the fenders would go back on, and I'd round up some bumpers too.
