Ben (ranchodeluxe) is driving up to Joplin. I'm not sure if I will be racing on Saturday.

Cool, I am looking forward to seeing it in person. Surely Ryan saved a spot for you in the drags cause you gotta stretch it's legs and test it out even if it's only one or two passes.

    Of course.

It is... There was a ton of old chrome on this car including splash apron, dash, etc... Pretty sure it was a show car in the 60s that was later abused in the 70s.

I made it to Joplin. Plenty of sunshine. Perfect day for a hot rod test drive.

Just took a quick drive up I44 and back a few miles. Driving impression: Hell Yes!

It's a loud, raunchy, fast hot rod. Only thing wrong, is my fat ass is a bit tight for steering and shifting duty. Looks like I can move the seat back four to six easy.

Thanks Keith, Ryan, and Ben! I think we've made a good deal here.

Just watched you take possession. I felt myself twitch as you backed out of the parking spot for your first drive. I looked down and my hand was over my heart.

I guess they got it right! So much cooler in person and the sound! Oh the sound :) God I love hot rods.

Loud , raunchy, fast is right! Sounds like it wants to punch your dad and take your little sister out cruising!

I ran a 14.72 @ 88.69mph today at the drags. Great fun. Then I drove home.

I could literally feel the neighbors windows rattle as passed by. For the moment, I don't care.

I enjoyed it too, well done.

  23. This car is perfect! It just has the look. I have a NOS set of these caps, but they fit on the wheels with the outside nubs, not the inside like these early ford type steel wheels. @Ryan Are there two different caps? One for the early type wheel and one for the later? or was there some magic to mate these to the wheels? I love how these look, and would love to put them on my 39.

  24. Just like the hubcaps on my 1965 Ford pickup. HRP

  25. @HOTRODPRIMER That's what I thought they were for, but man do they look good on these wheels. Looking at the pics earlier in the post the wheels look like Wheel Vintiques Gennie wheels which take the caps from a 40 to 48 car or 40 to 56 ford truck. I really Dig how these look on there.

  26. @brett4christ I have those exact wheels for/on my 39 now. The issue that I have is that these wheels take 40 type hub caps, they have nubs on the inside of the wheel center. the caps that are on this super sweet model A are later type and the one I have, and the ones I have seen fit the wheels with the outside hubcap nubs.

We will have to get Ryan or Keith to give the answer. I've never taken the caps off, but I imagine these are just F100 pickup wheels, late '50's - early '60's.

  28. @Rand Man First let me say your coupe is perfect! I love everything about it, and would never change a thing.
If they are still the wheels from the mock up picture the should be aftermarket since they have a dual bolt pattern. Ford made that style (I think) through 56 for trucks. But that cap is later. It look killer. And after seeing that I'm dying to use the ones I have on some earlier wheels.
