40-48 ford transmission case measurement

    Hello-
    Is there anyone that would be kind enough to give me the overall length measurement of a 40-48 ford transmission case? From the tip of the bell housing to where the rear bearing retainer mounts to (not including the bearing retainer). Tried to do a search, came up with nada. Trying to see what the overall dimensional difference is between that and a CAD/Lasalle with a Cadillac bell housing attached. Many thanks!!!

    Yeah...The Ford designing engineers should have measured the prescribed outside dimensions, then cut gears as an afterthought!
    Sounds like GM prowess...

    Would you mind telling us what the Lasalle trans bellhousing combo measures sharmack? Also if anyone knows what a 1940s or 1950's Packard side shifter case measures I'd be interested to know.
