Yes sir, but at the end of the day, it'll be on the road, running and driving, and sounding great! I'll get around to the 283 eventually, and we will probably punch it out, new pistons, and really take our time with it.

Thanks guys! I know it is a journey, but that is half the fun of building any kustom or hot rod! The struggles make it real, but you don't learn any other way!
My car sat for a few months a couple years ago (because I walked away for a while) until I figured out I had a bad condenser...in a freshly rebuilt distributor. I now have all new ignition parts to last me a while though (some that I may have even needed)... My car was acting similar in that it would run but kept fouling plugs, etc. I had just put the three 94's on so assumed a fuel problem. Turned out to be the condenser after lots of troubleshooting (and frustration).
Same happened to me but it was points. From the top they looked perfect, so I overlooked them. Turns of they were worn at avoid a 30° angle from the top down. Horrible. Tore apart carb, new plugs coil condenser cap rotor. This was on 235

We have a running SBC!!! This is a 350/260 HP marine engine. Again, it may not be the one we initially wanted, but I will have a running and driving car sooner than later! We have a trans crossmember! Almost complete. From my plans/drawings, a huge thanks to my buddy Dennis for his killer TIG fab skills! Gotta love some good teamwork.
A very successful weekend! We have a running and driving car! The engine is super tight, and the trans shifts incredibly snappy. A few more odds and ends before she's formally on the road, like exhaust, but feeling extremely happy where we are at! I'll let the pictures talk, but stay posted for more!
Hoping to...if I can get my exhaust done before then. WAY to damn loud right now. Block huggers are not nearly as forgiving as long tube headers...
Went home on lunch, couldn't resist jumping in and driving back to the office...careful not to floor it and attract any cops in a 2 miles vicinity...sure was a nice drive! Working on building up my confidence in it!

Thanks brother! I already have things to address, which is what happens after you log your first miles. Apparently the ATV we used as gasket for the headers (which is what it called to use) was not heat resistant enough, so I already have an exhaust leak on the headers, so those are coming off for all news gaskets when I do the rest of the exhaust. Also saw some coolant on the floor in the garage yesterday, not sure if it is residual from the overflow on the rad (no overflow bottle or press cap yet), but looks like the water pump MIGHT be leaking. All easy fixes. Here is a video of it for some audible enjoyment!

not that it matters now , but on your old motor, maybe you adjusted the valves a bit too tight ? my son did that, bad compression because the valves were not closing all the way !
No… Unfortunately that wasn't it. I was very happy to hear yesterday, when I saw the guy that I sold the old motor to, that he did have Harden seats, new guides, and new valves installed, and will be reassembling the engine and using it for a modified tractor project. Well friends, this car has been traded...I traded up for a 1952 Olds Rocket 88. 44k original miles, 303 V8. Plan now is to simply get it on the road. Stay posted for a new thread...been silent for a while. Had a baby boy in March, so two kiddos keeps me busy, and frankly with cars, been just having fun cruising, wrenching an hanging with my car club brothers! Stay posted...
