On my engine setup ( 392 hemi with 6-71 SC )
I am going to use a dry sump system.
There is little room for a drive beld for the oilpump, steeringpump, waterpump and generator.
I want to use 1 single belt.
There is an option to use a ribed timing belt as used on most 4 cil OHC engines.
or to use a multibelt as used on most modern cars.
What whould be the best sulution.
    Thanks

  2. If there is no room for a v belt there sure ins't going to be any room for a serpantine belt.

You can run your steering pump off the bcak of the oil pump, that does away with one piece you have to drive, if you go electric on your waterpump then all you have left to drive is your genny and your oilpump.

Should be able to do that with a pair of v belts.

May I ask why you need to run a dry sump system? The main reason for these systems is to combat sump surge under high G cornering, and to allow the engine to be mounted lower in the chassis to reduced the C of G of the car.

Dry sump pumps really need to be driven by a toothed belt, like the type used to drive camshafts.

I will go for the toothed belt.
I don't realy need the dry sump but I just like the looks of it.
It will be liqued propane injected so no carbs.
Use the megasquirt ECU together with the vialle propane controler.

I see you're on 'my' side of the pond, are you aware of Pace Products in the UK? They design and build dry sump pumps and systems, amongst other stuff. Here's their website: www.paceproducts.co.uk
