I couldn't get it to click on Events. This weekend was the annual Vintiques of Yakima Northwest Nationals in Yakima WA. I skipped out on getting my boat ready for vacation and grabbed the camera and went up and sniffed a bit of chrome. Here are some of the traditional or in a case or two real close to traditional rides that were there. This roadster has been around as long as I have been hitting rod runs in the PNW There were several first generation Novas there today Sweet sounding truck I see this truck at almost every event I go to. Some of it is a bit ot for an open wheel truck but a presentable low buck truck built out of a big truck
Solar powered hubcap no less I've got a couple done like this I really wanted this vise and stand but didn't want to have to carry it to the gate. About the only Mopar fin car there but a nice one.
First time I have seen this car but it is pretty nifty. I met this car on 97 just before I turned in my driveway Wednesday night and it was pulling a canned ham trailer.
I'm pretty sure this is the Merc that Vince Alcott restored about 20 years ago. He was the guy that a lot of you may have bought tail light lenses off that hit California and Arizona swap meets in his bus. A slick little Chevy from Spokane Details folks. Nice smile I think they may have started the after the gates are closed party a bit early Just vanning around the fairgrounds Boy howdy do I like this color.
You might just see this one running at Bonneville in a few days. Bill Ross had his coupe on display inside the Sundome. This car is a veteran of the Peking to Paris challenge. CORRECTION the 2013 Cape Horn rally in south America. The rest of the 219 photos are here: http://s173.photobucket.com/user/mr48chev/library/2016 Vintiques Northwest Nationals?sort=2&page=
Thanks for the pictures. This show always falls on two of my Grandsons birthday weekend so I never get to attend. That red track roadster looks like one that was started by builder in George WA. several years ago. I think he passed on before he could finish it. I have wondered what happened to it...... Now I know thanks to you.
Thanx for posting. I would have loved to have talked to the guys who brought their "rally" cars - the Peking to Paris builds - and taken a few 100 pix of each one. Gary
They had a pretty decent display behind the cars with photos but I didn't take a photo of it. Woops, they did the 2013 Cape Horn rally. in South America rather than the Peking to Paris I'll have to go back and correct that. Here is an article on the cars and drivers. A lot of local rodders had a hand in the building of the cars. http://www.hotrod.com/articles/unbe...ewriting-the-rules-of-endurance-rally-racing/
We just got back from Yakima. Looks like you snagged a pic of my Tudor and my dads 3 window. I've been going to the vintiques run for about 20 years now. My parents went to the very first one when it was called a Trolley Run! It's always a good show with a lot of fun to be had!!
I grew up in "The Valley" and have been to many of the Vintiques shows. Now I'm further South, but my Sister is moving back to Yakima, so I'll plan on being there next year. Great pic's.
I may be wrong but that looks to be a 170 or 200. Good use for the darned thing. Thanks for the photos.
