you just slid the headlight back from the current french? or did you bring the french bucket out farther?
This back window has been a bit more challenging than I thought. Made it through and setting the window tomorrow
That is an amazing job on a difficult chop. Kudos for keeping the drip rails, and for having the cajones to even attempt this. If mine didn't come already chopped, I'm not sure I would be brave enough to do it. Just my .02....the front end needs to come down just a bit, and the taillights need to go. I only say that about the taillights because I think they should either be left stock, or swapped out for something completely different. It just looks like the original builder lacked imagination, and couldn't think of anything better to do.
I agree 100%. Need to get a new set of headers and raise my exhaust and it will sit a lot lower. The taillights are actually the next thing to go. Thx for the input
That is a concern, but I try not to think about it too much. Besides, I could light the thing up like a Christmas tree in Times Square and it wouldn't matter to the latte drinking, pokemon catching, running late for pilates, soccer mom behind me.
1950sled. I remember your Merc. A few years ago a friend of mine in Coral Springs, FL used to own it. He bought it from a fellow in Hollywood, FL, trailered it home and kept it for a few months before selling it. At the time it had an Olds engine in it. You have performed miracles on that car. It looks great. Well done. Now, make those tail lights disappear and keep up the good work. It's a nice looking custom.
Thank you! The guy I bought it from blew that Olds up and purchased a 305 but didn't install it. I'm having fun with it
It may be wise to re-route the exhaust outlets at the same time..heat is hell on rubber! (I had an El Camino with similar pipes, and had a rear tire come apart!) You have done a great job on a one of a kind custom. Looking forward to more!
Thx, pipes right now are ran under the frame. Need to run them through, then I can drop it a bit. No need to blow any rubber at 65 mph
