After dealing with health issues from diabetes for over a year and half. So Soon I will have my 47 or 48 Chevy Coupe. If this needs to move please do so Thank You
Welcome back, I wouldn't mind having another one of those coupes to go along with my truck. I had a nice builder 25 years ago and let it go and regretted it ever since.
Thank You I am looking forward to building it. I would like to build it in traditional style but 6cyl engines are hard to find, I am thinking a 283 or 327 with a 4 or 5 speed.
Yes here are the pictures from when I posted here. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrcZcv2nH2C6Hdw5nrb1_jA
Thank You , I am happy I didn't lose a foot or part of the leg from a ulcer on the bottom of my right foot.
Here's mine. It's a 48, got smacked, so I put in a 46 grille, cause I like em better. Its got a 250, th350, 57 chevy rear end. No rust. Buy it. Don't mean to hijack your thread. Sixes are easy to find, and I did all the work in my driveway. Headers and a 4 bbl, it runs in traffic just fine. Keep looking for a six-shooter. Craigslist is your friend. Glad you're back.
Glad to have you back! I have a friend that deals in buying and selling the inline Chevy motors! If you want to stick with a six let me know and I'll get you two together
Thank You, what a coincidence My Coupe has a 57 Chevy Rear. Once I get the six the fun part will be the trans.
welcome back....good to hear you still have the spirt in you.....a late 70's old man truck with a 3 speed standard just showed up in a yard I fish in....you can find them out there....wish I had a use for this one....
Why will the trans be "fun"? Are you going with a manual? A 230,250, 292 will bolt up to a th350, and there are adapters for 235. BTW, I used slightly modified 71 Chevy pick-up motor mounts (6 cyl) for my engine.
Yes I would like to go manual but all the linkage is missing. Do you have a build thread on how you did the motor mounts?
^^^^ the passenger side has a gusset on top, I just laid them on top of the frame, trimmed off what wasn't needed. Easy as pie.
Thank You, it looks easy enough to do. I will have to get a welder which I was planning to do there is plenty of steel around here that is easy and cheap to get.
Welcome back and heed the advice of your doctor, diabetes can and does cause strokes, especially if you get slack on taking your medications. HRP
