Joe Wilhelm never seems to get his props; but he was a major player, and ranks with the all time greats.

Early T-birds make great customs. I'm sad to say, at the resto shop I used to work at, I helped un-customize several.

And the '55 (?) above is the first time I can remember, seeing a chopped 55-57 Chevy hardtop that looked good. That had to be an incredibly difficult cut. the reworked wheel openings really look great too, I'm not familar with the car but it must have been built by a master.

The 55 was called "the cherry" and was owned by Harry Hoskins. It was chopped 2 1/2" It was built by Barris

The car bears strong resemblance to Wally Ruby's '55, seen here in 1957 with bodywork by Lloyd's and candy apple red paint by Bailon. Besides the Dodge side trim and uniquely cut-down and frenched Lincoln tail lights are those wonderful pencil tipped exhausts!

Early version of the Hoskins car even has the same wheel covers, and door solenoid button placement under the trim
    (now "badged".)

The movie "Hot Car Girl!" actually featured the Frank Monteleon Ford.

What a sign of the times! This was Frank Monteleon's previous Barris custom. Every trick in the book!
Sure didn't take as much by 1956!
