    GaryC.

I've been wondering what a hood would look like on my hot rod.
It would have to be hand made, but I don't think it would be to difficult.
    Possibly even one piece.

Jigger, isn't it past your bedtime? Guess who? :) Good art guys! Lost my touch with my hands, now my talent is iron. Been trying to get back into it. I look at these pics/pages often to give myself a lil inspiration. Thanks

    Great start guys!!!!
Gary, your hot rod looks really fine with the hood.

Not easy to catch, this angry little green mouse!

  8. Thanks for all your post! I Sketched the Hustler this morning, as a tribute to a great Hot Rodder, 008.jpg that we lost this week. A great guy and car. We will miss you. Mr. Art Chrisman!

  9. Also, last night I drew this for Squirrel. It is an Idea for his 28 coupe project. I thought it would look cool as a boatail speedster. Its not finished yet. I'll post it again if I do. Ron... 006.jpg

  10. Great start, guys!!

Gary, hood is cool, but I like the no-hood version!!!

Not quite on topic, but it is period correct...been working on a 1927 Elgin bike lately. Building an Indian boardtracker tribute. Here is the pinstriping/lettering I've done thus far...

  16. Thanks everyone! I'm leaving now to take the grandkids on a road trip. I'll check back Monday morning, when I'm having my HAMB and coffee, to see all your great post. Sorry I misspelled Hustler on my earlier drawing. I never notice that stuff until after I post it. That's why I have one of those BIG erasers. I can fix it. ha ha. I also did a little more work on squirrel's 28 Chevy. Ron... 004.jpg

Fantastic art guys. Still nothing new, except way off topic stuff, but I found this piece whilst trawling through old CD's of my early stuff. Kiwi's will remember this thing which even now divides opinion as to being either the best or the worst of NZ hot rods. I was 13 when I first saw this and I have been hooked on rods ever since wildhoneyred.jpg

I don't know if this really qualifies, but I'll give it a shot. I really dig the Friday Art Show and want to support it.
I started with a Max Grundy Gas Mask shift knob. It came in 2 pieces (mask and gas cartridge) So I JB welded the cartridge to the mask. It came as a blank as it was not painted. I wanted it to look old skool and kinda creepy so I gave it a 2 tone faded look. It's large so I don't plan to use it in a car. However, it looks cool on the shelf.
I built this base for it out of some steel I had in the garage, gave it a white paint job, and punched out a few data plates.
