Looks Great ! Back in the day (60's), ran street slicks, same tire w/ 2 grooves to meet DOT, Just a tip, Be aware, if caught in rain, will get up on top of water instantly. First time caught in rain shower, slowed down, spun around at 30 mph going in a straight line, fortunately did not hit anything, car was my daily driver, about wore studs out changing rear tires, would put on for some street racing only.

Looks great Chris. See you on the strip...

  3. I prefer that look in many cases, yours included!

Chris that is the look I prefer...killer photo by the way...but cosmetics add drama and can be changed out on a whim. You know I gotta tell you...you have a knack for nailing things no matter what you do. The change is period correct either way...its all good...;)

    But it'll be entertaining!

Two pre-war fords, with essentially the same motors, the same weak trannies, the same weak rear-ends, yours with too much tire, and mine with too much ass...

  7. I love the mid 50's look I built the car for. But I love the rawness the 5 spokes bring. The nice thing is I guess I can have it both ways

Mine has a Scat 4 1/8" crank, with an 1/8" over bore, 284 ci. Edelbrock Heads and Slingshot. But all that's routed through the stock '39 box and banjo. Somethings gonna give eventually...

So you still have the original style carrot and crockery ,diff and trans. Let the fun begin, yeah I know you will have fun and drive accordingly LOL. Snapping carrots and smashing the crockery isn't fun.

" It's not how fast you go it's how you look going fast."

Now the search begins for a set of narrow wide five spokes for the pointy end to finish the transformation.
