Seriously, what is it? Or, what is it made from?

The front cross member is about the only thing that's recognizable to me.

    Is it front wheel drive?
    Where are the springs?

The question that haunts me the most is what is that grill shell? Is it part of an old washing machine or something, or is the refrigerator white paint just playing tricks on my brain?

I presume this was built by some farmer who got bored in his shop waiting out the long cold winters of North Dakota. This is parked behind a local ag machinery museum in Hettinger, ND.

Shell looks like a sad Bugatti. Looks like it was crying, and its face froze!

My Mom used to tell my sister that. Thought it would stop her.

Wow, that's very cool. Need to see more of the car!
Not much help, but I can add that not too many makes of that era used solid disc wheels with 4 lug demountable rims. The wheels look like 20's Chevrolet, however, the radiator does not look Chevy at all.

Looks like a Bugatti from a picture that I just seen on the Bugatti page. Other than that, I have no idea.

  12. Looks home made and totally NOT a Bugatti. I will go along with the Chevrolet (mostly) i.d.

Maybe some type of cycle-car. Motorcycle engine powered. There is a huge thread on here about cycle-cars. Cool stuff for sure. Gary

That yellow thing is rear cross member of a Ford frame, isn't it? Are they using a Ford frame backwards and upside down?

I will have to go back for a closer look. I took the photos last summer while driving around.

Looks a bit like an early 1920's Oldsmobile shell and hood with some Chevrolet disk wheels. Bob

Top half of grill shell n hood louvers like a whole lot like the old Morton & Brett speedster from the 20's.
Disc wheels look like 20's Chev, or maybe ~'24 Stude solids. Sorta.
Yup, lots more pics NEEDED... :D . Talk to the owner/curator, & pull the tarp for better detail pics! Inquisitive minds are desperate... :D .

    Waiting...

A Bugatti, sitting outside with only a small tarp over it, I don't think so. IFS and front wheel drive on the H.A.M.B. Nab it for the next R.O.G.

Back in the '20 there were several companies that made aftermarket "Speedster" bodies for cars. That front end looks like a Model A rear crossmember turned upside down. Early Chevy disc wheels? Get more info and pictures.

That does look like a flipped rear "T" crossmember in front. I'm very curious about the IFS.

  28. That's an early "TT" crossmember if I'm not mistaken? Looks neat! Someone go buy it and drive it!
