Folks Of Interest STATION WAGONS ~ JUST HAMBER OWNED

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Jul 10, 2016.

  1. Basically the same for me, except it was mid-60's and I was the Dad........always had a wagon in the driveway, used for usual daily chores including kids from football games dirty as hell......by mid-70's, kids were driving and I always welcomed them to use my wagon, but not allowed to touch/drive mine or family cars........they frequently preferred to "hit the shoe leather" than be seen driving a wagon.........40 yrs later to today, they all think my 65 Impala wagon is the greatest & joke with their own kids about "when Gramps made us drive his wagon".........go figure........

  2. 1964 countrysedan, I had a 64 like that and she had no rust being a T.N. car and it had the wood grain sides. It also had a real nice red interior .I still remember driving thru the Wagreens drug store drive thur and the old guy wouldn't let me go at the window. He just asking me questions about it. He couldn't belive the shape it was in. I finally had to go .I had a line of cars behind me honking their horns to move . but it was worth it.Out of all my station wagons I miss that one the most.Bruce.

I just picked this up 2 months ago - 62 Bel Air. I first saw it a year ago - it was owned by a friend of my neighbor - and he decided he didn't want it anymore so I was able to get it done. My wife has that 31 Roadster (profile pic) but I wanted more of a family cruiser. It's got the original 327/250 with a TH350. Working on cleaning up a few bits in the engine bay, wiring and I'd like to get wide white radials with 15" wheels but basically just want to keep it as is - maybe get a vintage camper to haul around and camp in.

Here is my semi daily driver 57 Chevy Wagon. This car was built in CA spent some time in OK and came to Missouri in the late 70's and promptly parked outside for 35 years. I bought it in 2013 and did a mechanical restoration on it and drove it and enjoyed it for 2 years. It has 65 327 with period correct speed parts on it. It has been apart again and I just recently got it back together from replacing floor pans, and doing some work on the a-pillars and windshield channels. I installed air conditioning and some new glass and new seals on all the glass. I have all new original style interior to install, but I haven't had time to get it all installed yet. I am driving it to the Meltdown Drags this weekend and will race it there. this is my favorite car that I own and I have no plans to get rid of it, but I am jealous of all the 56 Nomads posted here.

  26. Here's mine, it hasn't looked like this for several years, it is currently half apart for rust repair, front clip, engine/trans swap etc.
